The Cooperative Andelslaget Närpes Grönsaker was founded in 1957 to market and sell greenhouse vegetables produced by local greenhouse cultivators. The cultivators in the cooperative are masters of their own kind. Cultivation knowledge and a love for domestic vegetables have been passed down from generation to generation and continue to be. We are born into a culture where vegetables and the taste experiences they provide have always been a significant part of our lives.
It all started with a tomato
It all started with a tomato for over 100 years ago. After the tomato came crispy cucumbers, specialty tomatoes, bell peppers, chili, and now, finally, beans. But do you have any idea how these delicious vegetables end up in your local store to brighten up your everyday life? Behind it all are 34 skilled greenhouse cultivators, long-standing traditions, renewable domestic thermal energy, and a modern packaging facility. These are the ingredients of the Andelslaget Närpes Grönsaker, a producer cooperative founded in 1957 and the country's leading producer of tomatoes.
We cultivate the purest food in the world
Food grown with love is pure. It's the kind of food that takes care of you, nurtures you, and helps you feel good. The purest food in the world is cultivated using energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly methods, such as biological pest control methods and LED lighting. We promise to openly communicate about the conditions in which the food we produce has grown, who has cultivated it, and when the harvest has been packed. That's how the co-owners of the Cooperative Andelslaget Närpes Grönsaker cultivate.
And why a cooperative society?
Because the cooperative model has proven to be the operational framework that suits us best. This model entails equal treatment of all members, and that is one of the most significant strengths of the Cooperative Andelslaget Närpes Grönsaker. As co-owners in the cooperative, cultivators do not have to rely solely on their individual expertise; they can also benefit from each other's knowledge. Our cultivators do not need to compete with one another, and all sales revenues are distributed to them in their entirety after deducting costs. That's the only right way, in our view.
We choose solutions for the future
The new generation needs choices that help them lead a happy and healthy life. We promise to continue choosing solutions for the future as we develop our operations. We take pride in the fact that we already predominantly use domestic solid and renewable fuels for heating our greenhouses. Caring is a way of life we have been raised with, and we pledge to carry forward the same love.
